Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park Las Vegas Overview

With plenty of features for families and unbeatable room rates, the mid-tier Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park Las Vegas is hands down one of the favorite destinations on The Strip for budget travelers.

This huge hotel complex houses 3,773 less-than-stellar rooms, but they’re not the main draw. Rather, the on-site arcade, waterslides, amusement park, and long roster of circus acts is what lures in families looking for budget-friendly fun on the Las Vegas Strip. Unsurprisingly, the property is always packed to the brim with curious and eager visitors.

Problem is, not only are the rooms dated, worn, and dingy, but almost the entire hotel property has an issue with cleanliness. To make matters worse, dining options are limited, while other amenities such as the spa, salon, and fitness center are somewhat unimpressive.

For a better hotel stay once you’re done having fun at Circus Circus Hotel & Casino, you’d be better off at one it’s nearby neighbours, like the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, just expect to pay top dollar for that particular upgrade.

  • The cheapest rooms are located in detached motel-style buildings

Rooms & Suites at Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park Las Vegas

There are around 3,773 hotel rooms housed by the Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park Las Vegas property. However, if you expect to see luxurious amenities, over-the-top décor, and spacious suite-style rooms, you’ll be left disappointed.

But that isn’t a big deal for the property, as rooms are not their biggest draw. They’re focused on offering the most fun through a series of waterslides, an amusement park, and circus performances (it’s right there in the name folks). And it’s hard to argue with the low price tag.

The guest rooms are expectedly cheap, but you’ll have to opt for the motel-esque building to get a rock-bottom rate. Opt for either a double queen room, or a king bed on those, and expect standard amenities, such as electronic safes, hairdryers, and flat-screen TVs

The bathrooms have a classic tub and shower combination with shower curtains.

Guests get to choose from many different room types, although no category stands out when compared to other Vegas properties. It’s worth noting that Manor Motor Lodge Rooms – the property’s most affordable rooms – are located off the main complex. They’re actually found in a building that looks more like a motel than a Vegas hotel.

These motel-style rooms are not just dingy and have a poor décor; they’re also far removed from Circus Circus Hotel’s prized amenities like the circus performances, an amusement park, arcades, and a casino. If you manage to book an on-site hotel room, you can expect to choose from a handful of room types and multiple one-bedroom suites.

Even so, the rooms’ décor is monotonous and uninspiring. The bedding, carpeting, and wall décor are utterly drab, not to mention the rooms themselves look dirty and worn. For the best rooms and suites, be sure to snap up a booking in the more modern Casino and Skyrise Towers.

Restaurants & Bars at Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park Las Vegas

Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park Las Vegas is not exactly known for being a good dining destination, handing over that mantle to its neighbors like Mandalay Bay, the Mirage, and SLS Las Vegas instead. However, with six restaurants, as well as fast-food joints and multiple bars, the dining choice here isn’t too shabby. It is home to a Vegan buffet, burger joint, a 24-hour deli, pizzeria, and a Mexican eatery.

The property also hosts multiple quick-serve eateries, such as Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, and McDonald’s. Be sure to check out these notable spots:

  • The Pizzeria – this spot serves dinner and lunch, along with drinks served during happy hour
  • Circus Buffet – This vegan-friendly buffet serves all three meals of the day.
  • THE Steak House – This steakhouse has made a name for itself in recent years, dishing out some of the best American cuisines. However, you must make a reservation.
  • Blue Iguana – For Tex-Mex sensation, give this Mexican restaurant a try

As you can see, Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park isn’t in the dining business. For better and more tasteful dining options, you’d want to check out other hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.

Good thing, there are multiple bars dotted across the property, so getting your hands on drinks and cocktails is no sweat here.

Amenities at Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park Las Vegas

The hotel has a huge serving of fun, family-friendly amenities. Unfortunately, there’s no on-site spa. The daily resort fee covers most of the following amenities.

Pools and Water Features

Circus Circus hotel guests have direct and almost exclusive access to the waterslides and two pools on the property. However, when it’s hot, the pool area is a chaotic mess, with children splashing all over the place. The waterslide rising a dizzying 50 feet high features a winding tube slide and racing slides.

For people with children, you’ll find the kiddie Splashy Zone & Pool to be more your speed. It includes water fountains and impressive jets. There’s a poolside bar for Moms & Dads, plus guests with rooms can access the whole Water Park and pool area for free. Just be aware there are usually long wait lines.

Amusement Park

The indoor amusement park Adventuredome is the hotel’s crown jewel when it comes to amenities. It’s a favorite of both guests and non-guests. While it is free to enter the amusement park, you must pay for each attraction and rise. You’ll find a good range of attractions including 4-dimensional interactive rides, bumper cars, boardwalk games, a mini-golf course, and several roller coasters.

Gym and Fitness

Although the hotel doesn’t have a spa, there’s a small fitness center, perhaps too small for the sheer size of the property. And a ho-hum beauty salon that offers a variety of services is adjacent. Expect to find the usual suspects – strength-training equipment and cardio machines.

Arcade & Circus Performances

The Midway arcade is found on the 2nd floor of the hotel tower. It’s filled with arcade games for adults and kids alike, as well as an on-site food court. The circus performances are carried out in the middle of the Midway. They usually last around 30 minutes and are performed every other hour.

Casino at Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park Las Vegas

The casino floor attracts older folks and retirees. You’d be hard-pressed to find younger gamblers, professional gamers, or high rollers here. Accordingly, the casino features primarily $5 gaming tables and penny slots – befitting for the kind of crowd it pulls.

Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park Las Vegas Review: The Verdict

A well-known casino hotel on the Strip, Circus Circus Hotel & Casino Las Vegas is a family favorite near Downtown Vegas and Las Vegas Convention Center. It features a mid-sized casino, an arcade Midway, world renowned circus performances, and several dining options.

The real magic happens at the Adventuredome indoor amusement with jaw-dropping rides and attractions that range from bumper cars to roller coasters. All in all, it’s one of the best family-friendly spots on the Strip, but guest rooms, while cheap, are barely worth the trouble. So take advantage of the free parking, enjoy the theme park and head back to a nice room with your family when it gets dark.
